Welcome to the St Helens Birds and Wildlife blog. We welcome your reports from across the borough regarding all forms of wildlife. Please click on the "Report a sighting" tab if you would like to contribute to this blog.

In the context of St Helens, schedule 1 species usually means kingfisher and little ringed plover. Little ringed plover should not be reported at all on this blog between 1st May and 1st August.

Scarce or vulnerable species include but are not restricted to any species of wader, ducks other than mallard, all owls, any birds of prey, grey or yellow wagtails, grey heron, all grebes, Cetti’s warbler, water rail, willow tit, corn bunting etc. If in doubt, please ask.

We reserve the right to edit or delete posts which contravene this rule.

We are making changes to your Outlook.com experience in a mobile browser
Dear Outlook.com user,

You are receiving this email to let you know of some changes that we are making to the Outlook.com Mail experience on a mobile browser.

What is changing?
We are rolling out a new and faster beta experience for Mail in Outlook.com when accessed in a mobile browser. This roll out follows the updates previously announced for Outlook.com in a desktop browser. In the next couple of months all Outlook.com users who access their account in a mobile browser will see this beta experience but will have the option to opt‑out to the classic Outlook.com.

You can opt‑out of this beta experience by switching the Outlook beta toggle.
How to opt out:
1. Tap on the menu icon (3 horizontal lines on the top left corner)
2. The Outlook beta toggle will be at the top of the side bar
3. Tap on the toggle to go back to the classic experience
If you opted out and want to opt in again, please follow these instructions:
1. Log in to www.outlook.com in a mobile browser
2. Tap on the menu icon (3 horizontal lines on the top left corner)
3. When you see your name and email, scroll all the way down and look for the "Try the beta" toggle
4. Tap on the "Try the beta" toggle to enable the new experience
You can opt in and out as many times as you want and as often as you want.
Please be aware that some functionality is not yet supported in the beta experience for Mail. We would love to hear from you on the UserVoice channel if you are missing a feature you need or like. Your feedback is very important to us and will help shape the future of the Outlook.com experience in the mobile browser.
To learn more, please visit this support article or if you have any questions or feedback, please contact us in our UserVoice channel.
Yours sincerely,

The Outlook.com team
